Bunion Bootie Recommended by Celebrity Podiatrist on The Rachael Ray Show
Bunion Bootie saw another 90 seconds of fame Thursday on The Rachael Ray Show, when celebrity podiatrist Dr. Emily Splichal recommended Bunion Bootie as a sleek and sexy way to treat bunions.
Splichal referred to bunions as being “one of the most misunderstood conditions,” pointing out that while people commonly think the condition occurs when a lump appears on the side of the foot, it actually happens when the long bone in the foot deviates and shifts the large toe to the side, creating a bump.
Splichal recommended the Bunion Bootie as a gentler, less invasive method of bunion treatment — she even ventured so far as to call the bootie “sexy.”
“One of the best treatments for [bunions] that is sleek, a little sexy — if you could call that sexy — is the Bunion Bootie,” Splichal said on the Rachael Ray show.
She described how the flexible bunion splint stretches the foot muscles and [temporarily] realigns the big toe, helping to alleviate pain from the bunion. The Bunion Bootie’s fabric — strong, yet flexible and breathable — also acts to relieve chafing caused by a bunion’s protruding bony bump.
When Rachael asked whether the bootie is intended for night wear, Splichal was quick to add that “You can wear it in your shoes, you can wear it while working out, you can wear it while doing barefoot exercises like yoga, pilates,” Splichal said.
And she’s right — the Bunion Bootie is designed to slip comfortably and discreetly into just about any shoe have and it also works great on its own.
But Dr. Splichal emphasized that the splint can only prevent a bunion from progressing, not reverse the condition.
“I tell my patients this is like pushing pause on your bunion,” she said. “This is not going to reverse your bunion, but it’s like pushing pause.”
Splichal’s website describes herself as a human movement specialist. She created the Catwalk Confidence and Stiletto Recovery Program and authored “Everyday is your Runway: A Shoe Lover’s Guide to Healthy Feet and Legs.”
She also founded the Evidence Based Fitness Academy, a continuing education institute which, according to her website, gives research-based education to health and fitness professionals.
So, if a bunion is becoming the bane of your existence, Splichal’s recommendation is yet another reason to give Bunion Bootie a try!
