Urban legends say you can deduce personal characteristics and even health information from palm lines, tea leaves and dates of birth – but what about your feet?
Some sources (such as Voglia-di) say the shape of your foot can reveal some personality traits. Don’t buy it? Well, let’s take a look:
The Square Foot
The “square foot” refers to a somewhat wide foot on which the tips of all the toes end at the same point, creating a rectangular shape as shown below.
This foot – sometimes referred to as the “peasant foot” – is characteristic of someone who tends to overthink everything. This person is always pondering the pros and cons of every situation’s outcome. He or she avoids spontaneity and instead pursues a plan based on a series of well-thought-out decisions. On the brighter side, this person is highly dependable. He or she never leaves a project unfinished. Sound familiar?
The Flame Foot
A “flame foot” has a second toe which tends to be narrower than and protrudes from the rest of the toes, as shown:
It looks almost triangular and the toes are slightly spread apart. If this foot is yours, you must be an active person. You’re enthusiastic, creative and always on the move. But you don’t keep these traits to yourself – you’re always encouraging those around you to take action, as well.
Unfortunately, this also means you have a tendency toward impulsive decisions, which isn’t always the best characteristic.
The Common Foot
This foot is what a foot is expected to be: one sporting toes that cascade downward from the big toe to the little toe:
One possessing the common foot is likely to have an otherwise well-proportioned body shape and a social, amiable personality. This person craves learning and embraces new experiences, approaching life with an innovative, intellectual mindset. People who travel a lot tend to boast common feet, seeking out and learning from unfamiliar cultural traditions. Common foot owners can also, however, tend toward eccentricity and hubris.
The Stretched Foot
This foot is long and compact, with its toes clustered closely together around a long big toe.
The shape is delicate and understated, just like its owner’s personality. This person is whimsical and idealist. He or she tends to prefer privacy and turn a blind eye to reality. Owners of the stretched foot sometimes struggle with mood swings and rebellion.
Now these are just some examples of the different foot shapes out there and how they might denote certain personal characteristics. A foot-based horoscope may seem silly, but hey – there’s no harm in a little silliness once in a while!
Regardless of your foot’s shape, your personality type and whether the two match up, be sure to love and care for your feet!
